What the AI cat rap is
In September 2026 AI rap videos took off on TikTok. Two photos went in and two rappers came out, trading bars at a single hanging microphone in a plain one-colour studio, straight-faced, with the beat under them. People put in themselves and their partners, film characters, politicians, and above all their pets: the most watched one of all was two cats, which passed six million views within days of being posted on 23 September.
A cat is the perfect rapper for it. It already has the stare, it does not smile, and a mouth that opens on the beat is funny exactly because it is a cat's mouth. People search for it as a cat rap, a cat rapper or an AI dog rapping, and the joke works the same with a dog. This template is the one-pet version: your cat or dog alone at the mic, with the frame to itself, so you can watch it rap every word.
How this generator makes yours
The video is one continuous take from one photo of your pet. First a still picture is drawn from your photo: your pet sitting up in a small studio in front of a seamless teal wall, a silver microphone hanging down on its cable by its face. Because it is drawn from your photo, your pet keeps its own face, coat, markings and eye colour. Then a video model sets it moving and makes the sound in the same take: the voice, the rap and the beat come out of the same model as the picture, so the mouth and the rap are made together rather than a track being laid over it afterwards.
Before you generate, you pick who raps it: a male or a female voice. The words are the same either way. Each finished video runs 10 seconds at 1080 by 1920, with the rap as its own soundtrack, no music of ours laid over it, and a small AI-generated label in the corner. It takes a few minutes and costs 80 credits from a credit pack or paid plan.
The words, the voice and the beat
The verse is ours, written for this template, four bars about a pet's day: "Woke up from my nap and the sun hit the floor, paws on the mic and the crowd wants more, treats in the bowl and the bass on repeat, whole house nodding, I don't miss a beat." It names nobody, quotes no one else's song, disses nobody and has nothing in it a platform would mute, so you can post it as it is. Four bars is what ten seconds holds; written longer, the words come out rushed.
The voice and the beat are made fresh in every video, so no two come back quite the same: the flow, the tempo and where each word lands are the model's, over boom-bap drums and a deep 808 bass. That is also why there are no words on screen. Your pet keeps its own mouth while it raps: in our samples the cat kept its small fangs and pink tongue, the beagle its dark lips and canines, and a paw that lifted to tap the beat stayed a paw.
How to make a cat rap video yourself
You do not need this page to make one. This is how the video is put together, with the prompts for its one shot, so you can build it with any picture model and image-to-video model you like.
Step 1
Write four short bars of your own
Write a verse of about forty syllables, four lines that rhyme in pairs, about things any pet does: naps, treats, the sofa, the window. Keep it your own: no names, no lines from someone else's song, nothing rude, so the video can be posted without being muted.
Step 2
Draw the still: the face first, then the mic
Use a picture model that takes a reference photo. Say the framing in the first sentence, your pet filling the frame with its face large in the centre and its mouth slightly open, then hang the microphone on a cable that runs down from the top of the frame to just beside its mouth, then the plain wall behind.
Step 3
Animate it with the words, the voice and the beat in one prompt
Give the still to an image-to-video model that makes sound with the picture, and put everything in one prompt: the verse in quotes, male or female voice, a tight rap flow, boom-bap drums and an 808, and the mouth opening and closing with every syllable. Ask for one continuous take of about ten seconds and keep the sound it comes with.
The shot, second by second
| Time | Shot |
|---|---|
| 0–10s | On the mic A close shot of your pet beside a hanging studio mic, rapping four bars into the camera in the voice you picked, head bobbing, one paw tapping the beat. |
The prompts
The whole video is one shot, made in two steps. Give its still prompt to a picture model with your pet's photo as the reference, then give the picture it draws to an image-to-video model with the motion prompt. Add these endings to both prompts: they set the look and keep your pet the same from the first frame to the last.
End of every still prompt
Keep each animal's species, breed, face, markings, fur colour and pattern, eye colour, ears and size exactly as in its reference photo, so it is instantly recognisable as the same pet; never swap who is who. It stays a real animal: paws, not human hands, no human body, and no clothes it is not wearing in its photo unless the scene puts it in them. Photorealistic still from a studio rap performance video, vertical 9:16, shot on a cinema camera: soft even studio light, crisp focus, rich saturated colour. No text, no captions, no watermark, no logos.
End of every motion prompt
One continuous shot with no cuts. Keep the animal looking exactly as in the first frame. No text.

Still prompt
A close shot: the pet in the reference photo fills most of the vertical frame, sitting upright, its head and chest in the upper half, its face large and sharp in the centre, looking straight into the lens with a serious, focused stare, its mouth slightly open mid-word. A large silver studio microphone hangs on a black cable that runs straight down from the top edge of the frame, its round grille right beside the pet's cheek at the height of its mouth, just to one side so the mouth stays in full view. Behind it, a small recording studio with one seamless solid teal wall behind, evenly lit, nothing on it. No people anywhere in the frame.
Motion prompt
The pet raps straight into the camera beside the hanging microphone: "Woke up from my nap and the sun hit the floor, paws on the mic and the crowd wants more, treats in the bowl and the bass on repeat, whole house nodding, I don't miss a beat." A confident male voice, a tight rhythmic male rap flow over hard boom-bap drums and a deep 808 bass. Its own animal mouth and jaw open and close in sync with every syllable, its whiskers twitching, its head bobbing on the beat; now and then one front paw lifts and taps the air in time. It does not smile: a serious, focused expression throughout. The camera holds with a slight handheld sway.
Where it goes wrong
Hang the mic from the top of the frame
Asked only for a microphone level with the pet's mouth, the picture model hung it above the head, where it looks like a lamp. Say that the cable runs straight down from the top edge of the frame and that the grille stops right beside the cheek, to one side, so the mouth stays in view.
Do not name what should be out of frame
Trying to keep the shot tight, we wrote that the paws and the floor were out of frame. The picture model drew both, the whole pet sitting small on a carpet, and an extra microphone floating by its mouth. Say what fills the frame instead: the head and chest, the face large in the centre.
Ask for its own mouth, not lips
Say the pet raps with its own animal mouth and jaw. Words like lips and teeth are what a person raps with, and a video model takes the hint. Written this way, the cat and the dog in our samples kept their own mouths and teeth, and the paw that tapped the beat stayed a paw.
Keep it to one take
The voice and the beat are made with each clip, so two clips cut together change rapper and tempo at the cut. Make the whole verse in one continuous take, and keep the verse short enough to fit it.
Your own pet, or with the owner’s yes
Use your own cat or dog, or a pet whose owner agreed. Do not use a celebrity’s pet or a famous animal account, and keep real rappers and their songs out of your prompt and your verse.
Label it as AI-generated
Switch on TikTok's AI-generated content label before you post. A realistic clip of a cat rapping is exactly the kind people ask about, and viewers trust a post that says so.
Or skip all of it
Upload one photo above and get the finished video back in a few minutes: drawn, animated, cut and scored, with the AI label already on it.
How to post it on TikTok with its own sound
Step 1
Download your video
Save the MP4 to your phone. It is already vertical, 1080 by 1920, so TikTok will not crop it.
Step 2
Post it with its own sound
Upload it to TikTok as it is. The rap and the beat are the video’s own sound, so keep Original sound on and do not add another sound over it: a second track would bury the voice.
Step 3
Put the words in your caption
There are no words on the video, so write your pet’s name and a line from the verse in the caption, or add text in the editor if you want the bars on screen.
Step 4
Label it as AI-generated
Before posting, open More options and switch on the AI-generated content label. TikTok asks creators to label realistic AI-generated video, and viewers trust a post that says so.
Questions about the cat rap generator
How do I make an AI cat rap video?
Upload one clear photo of your cat on this page, pick a male or a female voice, and generate. In a few minutes you get a ten-second vertical video of your cat at a hanging studio mic, rapping an original four-bar verse over a boom-bap beat, with the voice and the beat already in the file.
Can I make my dog rap too?
Yes. The template is written for any pet with a face you can see, and the verse is about naps, treats and the bass, which suits a dog as well as a cat. Use a photo of your dog looking at the camera with its mouth and muzzle in view, and it raps the same four bars at the mic.
Is the rap in the video, or do I add a sound?
It is in the video. The voice, the words and the beat are made with the picture, in one take, not added afterwards. Post it with its own sound and keep Original sound on: there is no trend sound to add, and a second sound over it would bury the rap.
Will every video sound the same?
The words are always the same verse, in the voice you pick, male or female. The flow, the tempo and the beat are made fresh for each video, so two videos of the same pet will not sound exactly alike, and the mouth that raps stays your pet's own.
How much does an AI cat rap video cost?
80 credits for one finished video, from a credit pack or paid plan. If a video fails to generate, the credits go straight back to your balance.
Can I change the words?
Not here: every video raps the same original verse, which we wrote to fit ten seconds and to be safe to post. If you want your own words, the section on making one yourself has the full prompts for the still and the take, with the verse in quotes for you to swap.
Can I use a photo of someone else’s pet?
Only with the owner’s consent. Before you generate, you confirm that the photo is of your own pet or that its owner agreed. Do not upload photos of celebrities’ pets or famous animal accounts, and do not upload photos of people: this template is written for one cat or dog at the mic.
What photo works best?
One pet, its face fully visible and looking roughly at the camera, in good light, with its mouth, muzzle and whiskers clear. A head-and-chest photo works better than a whole animal seen from far away. Avoid blurry action shots and photos with several pets in them: this one is made for a single pet.
What happens to my photo?
It is used only to draw the still your video starts from, and we delete it from our storage as soon as your video is finished or fails. The finished video stays in your account so you can download it again.
Every video on this page, and every video made here, is AI-generated: the pets in it are drawn by an AI model from the photos uploaded, and nothing in it was filmed.
