The Gangnam Style AI trend, with you and your two best friends
Updated
A night out on a city street, one front camera between three friends: all of you squeezed into a selfie, then the camera turns on each friend for a galloping solo on the pavement, comes back to you waving, and the three of you pile back in for the last beat. Upload a photo of each of you and get it back as a vertical video, ready for the song.

The 5 scenes
1. The selfie
All three of you squeezed cheek to cheek in a night-street selfie, office towers and street lamps glowing behind, bouncing to the beat.
2. Solo one
The camera turns on your friend from the left: wrists crossed as if holding reins, they gallop on the spot on the pavement.
3. Solo two
Then your friend from the right: the same galloping step, one hand circling over their head as if swinging a lasso.
4. Back to you
The camera comes back to you alone, close up: you grin, bob to the beat and wave the others back in.
5. All three again
Your friends pile back into the selfie for the last beat, wrists crossed, heads thrown back laughing.
What the Gangnam Style AI trend is
"Gangnam Style" is PSY's 2012 hit, the first video on YouTube to pass a billion views, and its galloping dance, wrists crossed as if holding reins, never really went away. This round started with a real clip, not an AI one: on 5 October 2026 three friends filmed themselves on a street in Seoul's Gangnam district at night, passing one front camera around while the song played, a squeezed-in selfie first, then a solo for each of them, then all three back in the frame. It passed twenty million views on TikTok.
Within three weeks people were remaking it with AI. The first versions swapped in famous faces, basketball stars and film trios among them, and the obvious next step followed: putting your own group chat in it. Search for it and you will see it called the Gangnam Style AI trend, AI Gangnam Style or the Gangnam Style AI dance; it is the same three-friend selfie each time.
How this generator makes yours
The video is made as five shots from three photos: the three of you squeezed into a selfie, a dance solo for the friend on the left, a solo for the friend on the right, a close-up of you waving, and all three again for the last beat. The original passes the camera around in one take with whip pans; here each part is its own shot with a hard cut, which reads the same at the speed people scroll. Each shot starts as a still picture drawn from your photos, so everyone looks the same from the first frame to the last, and a video model then sets it moving.
It stays on a night street like the original: glass office towers, white street lamps and the streaks of passing traffic, with no shop signs, flags or writing anywhere. Each finished video runs 18 seconds at 1080 by 1920, with an original electro-pop instrumental made for this template, a cut on every other bar, and a small AI-generated label in the corner. It takes a few minutes and costs 80 credits from a credit pack or paid plan.
The song is not in the file
"Gangnam Style" belongs to PSY and his label, and the clip people post over is that song. We have no licence to put it in a video we make for you, and we did not make a sound-alike: the instrumental in the file is ours, a bouncy 120 beats a minute, with no chant and no hook from the song. You add the song on TikTok when you post, as everyone on the trend does, which also lists your video with every other one on the sound.
angles.video is not affiliated with PSY, his label, the creators of the original clip or anyone in the AI versions. The people in your video are the three of you, drawn from your photos; nobody famous is in it, and nobody should be.
How to make a Gangnam Style AI video yourself
You do not need this page to make one. This is how the video is put together, with the prompts for every shot, so you can build it with any picture model and image-to-video model you like.
Step 1
Draw one still per shot from the three photos
Use a picture model that takes reference photos. The two selfies need all three photos; each solo needs only that friend's photo, and the close-up only the first. Describe the street the same way in every still, the office towers, the white lamps and the traffic, so the place does not change between shots.
Step 2
Say who is where, left to right
Name each person by the order you sent the photos and say the order across the frame: image 2 on the left, image 1 in the middle, image 3 on the right. Say too that every face and every outfit comes from its own photo, or the model trades them between friends.
Step 3
Animate each still, then cut on the bar
Give each still to an image-to-video model with the moves spelt out: wrists crossed as if holding reins, bouncing foot to foot in a skipping, galloping step. Pick a beat of 120 a minute, trim each clip to two bars (four seconds) and the last to one, lay them end to end at 9:16 with hard cuts, and add the song on TikTok.
The shots, second by second
| Time | Shot |
|---|---|
| 0–4s | The selfie A tight arm's-length selfie of the three of you cheek to cheek on a city street at night, laughing and bouncing, the two at the sides cheering. |
| 4–8s | Solo one A full-body shot of the friend from the left on the pavement, wrists crossed in front, bouncing foot to foot in the galloping step. |
| 8–12s | Solo two A full-body shot of the friend from the right galloping on the spot, one hand circling overhead like a lasso, the other held out in front. |
| 12–16s | Back to you A close arm's-length selfie of you alone, the city lights blurred behind, grinning, bobbing to the beat and waving at the lens. |
| 16–18s | All three again The same tight selfie of the three of you on the last beat, the two at the sides crossing their wrists and laughing, then all grinning. |
The prompts, shot by shot
Each shot is made in two steps. Give its still prompt to a picture model with the photos listed for that shot as references, then give the picture it draws to an image-to-video model with the motion prompt. Add these endings to every prompt: they set the look and keep the faces the same from shot to shot.
End of every still prompt
Keep each person's face, facial features, skin tone, hairstyle and build exactly as in their reference photo, so they are instantly recognisable. Keep each person the same gender and age as in their photo; never swap who is who. A candid still from real-looking handheld night footage of friends on a night out: city street light on the faces, slightly soft focus, visible low-light grain, an everyday look rather than a music video, vertical 9:16. The scene fills the whole frame edge to edge: no screen, viewfinder, bezel, notch or border in the picture. No text, no captions, no watermark, no logos.
End of every motion prompt
One continuous shot with no cuts. Keep the people looking exactly as in the first frame. No text.
0–4sThe selfie
Photos to attach, in orderImage 1: The one filming, in the middleImage 2: On the leftImage 3: On the rightStill prompt
A tight selfie shot of three friends' heads and shoulders squeezed together cheek to cheek, filling the whole frame, taken at arm's length from just above eye level by the one in the middle. Their arm is stretched out of the frame toward the lens, and nothing they hold is in the picture. From left to right: the person in image 2, the person in image 1, the person in image 3. All three have their eyes open. The person in image 1, in their own clothes from the photo, is in the middle, nearest the lens, eyes open, smiling with lips closed, face in full view. The person in image 2, in their own clothes from the photo, leans in on the left of the frame, eyes open, smiling, face in full view. The person in image 3, in their own clothes from the photo, leans in on the right of the frame, eyes open, smiling, face in full view. Behind them, tall glass office towers with lit windows and white street lamps at night are softly out of focus into round city lights, with no sign, logo, print or writing anywhere. Each face and each outfit comes from that person's own photo alone, never a mix of the three: the one in the middle has exactly the face, gender, age and clothes of the person in image 1. Exactly these three people are in the picture; nobody else is near them, and the street behind them is empty of people.
Motion prompt
The three friends bounce together to a pumping dance beat, laughing and grinning into the lens, bobbing their heads and shoulders on every beat, and the two at the sides throw an arm up in the air and cheer. Everyone stays in their place, the one in the middle filming at arm's length. The camera shakes a little with them, held at arm's length. They do not sing or mouth any words.
4–8sSolo one

The person in the reference photo, in their own clothes from the photo, stands on the pavement facing the camera, wrists crossed in front of their chest, knees a little bent, ready to dance, grinning, face in full view. A full-body shot from about three metres away, seen head to toe, shoes on the pavement, as a friend films them. Behind them is a wide city pavement at night in a modern business district: tall glass office towers with rows of lit windows rising behind, tall white street lamps, a few bare trees, and the red and white streaks of passing traffic on the road beside them, under a dark sky. None of it has any sign, billboard, flag, logo, print or writing on it: the buildings, the shop fronts and the lamp posts are plain. Only this one person is in the picture; nobody else is near them, and the street behind them is empty of people.

They dance on the spot to a pumping dance beat: wrists crossed in front of their chest as if holding a pair of reins, they bounce from foot to foot in a skipping, galloping step, knees lifting high, shoulders bouncing with every beat, grinning at the lens. Where it goes wrong
Keep the selfie tight
Ask for an arm's-length selfie and a picture model often draws the arm itself, a huge hand in the foreground with the three of you small behind it, and with small faces it loses track of whose is whose. Ask for heads and shoulders filling the frame, the arm out of the frame, and the street behind as a blur.
Do not name what is held
A picture model draws what you name. Say the person in the middle is holding a camera and you may get a big black camera in their hand; say phone and you get a phone. Say instead that their arm reaches out of the frame toward the lens and nothing they hold is in the picture.
Describe the dance, not the horse
Everyone calls it the horse dance, but a picture model told "horse" or "riding" may draw a horse. Describe what the body does: wrists crossed in front, a skipping, galloping step, one hand circling overhead like a lasso.
Leave the signs off the street
A city street at night is full of shop signs, billboards and flags, and a picture model fills them with lettering and logos. Ask for plain buildings and lamp posts with no sign, flag, logo or writing anywhere.
Only people who said yes
Use your own photos or those of friends who agreed. The first versions starred real athletes; do not use celebrities, public figures, the people in the original clip, or anyone who has not agreed to be in the video: a realistic video of a real person made without their consent can hurt them, and platforms take it down.
Label it as AI-generated
Switch on TikTok's AI-generated content label before you post. A realistic clip of friends dancing in the street is exactly the kind people ask about, and viewers trust a post that says so.
Or skip all of it
Upload a photo of each person above and get the finished video back in a few minutes: drawn, animated, cut and scored, with the AI label already on it.
How to post it on TikTok with the trend sound
Step 1
Download your video
Save the MP4 to your phone. It is already vertical, 1080 by 1920, so TikTok will not crop it.
Step 2
Start from the song
Open a Gangnam Style AI video on TikTok, tap the sound name at the bottom, then tap Use this sound and pick your video from Upload.
Step 3
Turn our track down, line up the beat
In Volume, turn Original sound to zero so only the song plays. The cuts fall every four seconds and the last one two seconds before the end; if they drift off the beat, tap the scissors by the sound and nudge its start until a cut lands on one. Tag your two friends in the caption, as long as they agreed to it.
Step 4
Label it as AI-generated
Before posting, open More options and switch on the AI-generated content label. TikTok asks creators to label realistic AI-generated video, and viewers trust a post that says so.
Questions about the Gangnam Style AI generator
What is the Gangnam Style AI trend?
A TikTok trend from October 2026 in which people use AI to remake a real clip of three friends on a night street in Seoul: a squeezed-in selfie, a dance solo for each of them, then all three back in the frame, set to PSY's 2012 hit. The first AI versions swapped in basketball stars and other famous faces; now people put themselves and their friends in it.
How do you do the AI Gangnam Style dance?
Cross your wrists in front of your chest as if holding a pair of reins, then bounce from foot to foot in a skipping, galloping step with your knees lifting high; for the second move, circle one hand over your head as if swinging a lasso. Or upload three photos here and the AI does the dancing for all three of you.
How many photos do I need?
Three, one per person: the first is whoever holds the camera, in the middle of the selfie and in the close-up; the second leans in on the left and gets the first solo; the third leans in on the right and gets the second. Each photo should show one person, face clearly visible.
Is there a prompt for the Gangnam Style AI video?
Yes, on this page: in the section on making one yourself, each of the five shots has the prompt for its still and the prompt that sets it moving. Here you do not need them: upload three photos and the shots are already written. Whichever way you make it, keep the selfie tight, describe the dance rather than saying horse, and leave the street signs off.
Is the song in the video?
No. "Gangnam Style" is not ours to put in your file, so the video comes with an original instrumental made for this template, cut on its beat. Add the song on TikTok when you post and turn our track down to zero.
How much does a Gangnam Style AI video cost?
80 credits for one finished video, from a credit pack or paid plan. If a video fails to generate, the credits go straight back to your balance.
Can I use photos of other people?
Only of people who have agreed to be in the video. Before you generate, you confirm that each photo is of you or of someone who said yes. Do not upload photos of celebrities, athletes, the people in the original clip or anyone who has not agreed: a realistic video of a real person made without their consent can hurt them, and it breaks our terms.
What photos work best?
One person per photo, face clearly visible and looking roughly at the camera, in good light. The selfies are close, so faces matter most, but the solos show each friend head to toe in the clothes from their photo, so waist-up or full-length photos keep the outfits right. Avoid sunglasses, heavy filters and group photos.
What happens to my photos?
They are used only to draw the five shots, and we delete them from our storage as soon as your video is finished or fails. The finished video stays in your account so you can download it again.
Every video on this page, and every video made here, is AI-generated: the people in it are drawn by an AI model from the photos uploaded.
