The 4 scenes
1. Hands in pockets
The first look at your anime self, head to toe on white: jacket pushed back, hands in your pockets, chin up, swaying on the beat.
2. Arms folded
A flash of white, and the same character is back with arms folded, looking at the camera out of the corner of their eye.
3. The point
Another flash and you point straight at whoever is watching, a confident grin, still swaying.
4. The cash fan
The last pose: a thick fan of green notes in one hand and a cocky half-smile to finish.
What the wassup in a minute trend is
Wassup in a minute is a TikTok edit from the end of October 2026. A row of hand-drawn anime characters in baggy streetwear stand one after another on a plain white background, each with a soft grey shadow behind them like a cut-out sticker, and sway side to side on the beat, the whole body rocking from the feet while the head and shoulders bob along. Every couple of bars the picture washes out to white and the next character pops in. The sound is a jersey club remix whose opening line, "wassup, been a minute", almost everyone hears as "wassup in a minute", and some as "wasala in a minute".
It started on 22 October 2026, when a fan animator posted four characters from an anime they love, redrawn in puffer jackets, chains and baggy jeans, swaying to the remix. That post passed two million views, and the next day's, captioned "Wassup in a minute", passed two and a half million and gave the trend its name. Within days fans were redrawing it with characters of their own, and then came the AI versions that do the drawing for you: upload one photo and you become the anime character, cash in hand.
How this generator makes yours
The video is made as four shots from one photo. The first is a full-length anime drawing of you, hands in your pockets, in the look the trend is known for: a glossy black puffer jacket hanging open, a white T-shirt, a thin silver chain, baggy light-blue jeans and chunky white trainers. The other three poses are drawn after the first one, so your face, your hair, the jacket and the drawing style stay the same from pose to pose, and a video model then sets each one swaying.
Each finished video runs 14.12 seconds at 1080 by 1920. A new pose comes in on a flash of white every 3.53 seconds, which is two bars of the trend sound, the same as the original's characters. We add no vignette and no zoom on top: nothing but you and your shadow on the page. The file has no sound at all, so you add the trend sound on TikTok, and there is a small AI-generated label in the corner. It takes a few minutes and costs 80 credits from a credit pack or paid plan.
The sound, the look and whose character it is
Nearly every wassup in a minute post uses the same remix, many of them re-uploaded as an "original sound", and the song is the trend. It is not ours to put in a video we make for you, so the file is deliberately silent: add the sound with Use this sound when you post. Start it at the "wassup, been a minute" line, and each new pose lands two bars later, on the beat.
The character is an original anime drawing of you, not someone from a show. The characters in the original post are fan art of another studio's cast; we do not draw them, name them or copy their outfits, and the clothes in your video carry no logo, team number or writing. The stack of cash is plain green paper too, so there is no real money design to worry about when you post it.
How to make a wassup in a minute video yourself
You do not need this page to make one. This is how the video is put together, with the prompts for every shot, so you can build it with any picture model and image-to-video model you like.
Step 1
Draw the first pose from your photo
Use a picture model that takes a reference photo and draw the first pose, hands in the pockets, with nothing in the hands. Say up front that it is an original anime drawing of the person in the photo, then the outfit, the pose and the shadow, and end with the drawing style and the white background.
Step 2
Draw the other three from the first one
For the folded arms, the point and the cash fan, give the picture model your photo and the first drawing as a second reference, and ask it to keep the face, the hair, the clothes and the drawing style from that drawing but draw the pose you describe. Drawn on their own, each one comes back a slightly different character.
Step 3
Animate each pose, then cut on the beat
Give each drawing to an image-to-video model with the sway: rocking side to side from the feet, the head bobbing, the feet planted, the same drawing and the white background unchanged, the camera still. Trim each clip to 3.53 seconds, lay them end to end at 9:16 with a quick flash of white between them, and add the sound on TikTok.
The shots, second by second
| Time | Shot |
|---|---|
| 0–3.5s | Hands in pockets You as a full-length anime drawing on white, hands in your jeans pockets and chin up, swaying side to side from the feet for two bars. |
| 3.5–7.1s | Arms folded The same drawing of you, arms folded over the open jacket and head turned a little, swaying on the beat for two bars. |
| 7.1–10.6s | The point The same drawing of you pointing at the viewer with one hand, the other in a pocket, jabbing the point on the beat for two bars. |
| 10.6–14.1s | The cash fan The same drawing of you fanning out a stack of plain green notes at chest height, the other hand on the collar, flicking the notes on the beat. |
The prompts, shot by shot
Each shot is made in two steps. Give its still prompt to a picture model with your photo as the reference, then give the picture it draws to an image-to-video model with the motion prompt. Add these endings to every prompt: they set the look and keep the faces the same from shot to shot.
End of every still prompt
Keep each person's face, facial features, skin tone, hairstyle and build exactly as in their reference photo, so they are instantly recognisable. Keep each person the same gender and age as in their photo; never swap who is who. Everyone is dressed: where their photo shows no clothes or only bare shoulders, they wear a plain crew-neck T-shirt that covers their shoulders. A clean hand-drawn 2D anime illustration, not a photo and not 3D: crisp ink outlines, flat cel shading, a slightly realistic manga style, vertical 9:16. The background is flat pure white from edge to edge: no floor, no scenery, no gradient, no border. No text, no captions, no watermark, no logos.
End of every motion prompt
One continuous shot with no cuts. Keep the people looking exactly as in the first frame. No text.
0–3.5sHands in pockets
Still prompt
An original anime drawing of the person in the reference photo, not any existing anime, manga or game character: their face is drawn in anime style with their own face shape, eyes, skin tone, hair colour and hairstyle. Seen head to toe, small in the middle of the picture, the shoes well above the bottom edge. They wear a glossy black puffer jacket hanging open over a plain white T-shirt, a thin silver chain, baggy light-blue jeans with a brown leather belt and chunky white trainers. The jacket is only plain, smooth quilted panels, with no logo, label, patch or lettering on the chest or anywhere else, and nothing they wear has any print or writing. They stand with their weight on one leg, both hands tucked into the front pockets of the jeans, the open jacket pushed back, chin slightly up, looking straight at the viewer with a calm, cocky look and a small closed-mouth smirk. A soft grey drop shadow of them falls on the white just behind, like a cut-out sticker.
Motion prompt
They sway side to side on the beat from their feet, leaning a little to the left, then a little to the right, about two sways a second, their head and shoulders bobbing along just behind with small, cocky nods, and their feet stay planted on the same spot. Their hands stay in their pockets, and the jacket, the chain and their hair swing a little with the sway. It stays the same flat, hand-drawn anime drawing, with the same ink lines, shading and colours, from the first frame to the last, never 3D or photographic. The background stays plain pure white the whole time, with only their soft grey shadow, which moves with them. The camera does not move, pan or zoom.

Where it goes wrong
Say it is a drawing, every time
Without a word on style, a picture model reaches for a realistic, cinematic look, and a video model can drift from a flat drawing into something glossy and 3D partway through a clip. Say in every still that it is a hand-drawn 2D anime illustration on flat white, and in every clip that it stays the same drawing to the last frame.
Keep all four poses in one style
Draw every pose with the same picture model and the same wording for the character, the outfit and the style. Some tools quietly hand a long prompt to a different model, and a different model draws a different anime: in our tests the poses drawn that way came back flatter and older-looking, with the moustache gone. Keep each prompt short enough to stay on one model.
Call the cash plain green paper
Ask for money and a picture model draws real-looking banknotes with a portrait on them, and once a column of coins with heads on them beside the character. Describe a fan of plain light-green paper notes with nothing printed on them: it still reads as cash, without a face on it.
Say the jacket is nothing but quilted panels
A puffer jacket comes back with a maker's name across the chest even when the prompt says no logo: in our first sample all four poses had a small strip of black-on-black lettering there. Say the jacket is only plain, smooth quilted panels, with no logo, label, patch or lettering on the chest or anywhere else.
Expect the figure to fill the frame
However small you ask for the character, a picture model tends to draw a standing figure from the top of the frame almost to the bottom. Ask for space below the shoes anyway, and do not zoom in when you edit, or the shoes are the first thing you lose.
Only people who said yes
Use your own photo or one of someone who agreed. Do not use celebrities, or anyone who has not agreed to be in the video: even as a drawing, a video of a real person made without their consent can hurt them, and platforms take it down.
Label it as AI-generated
Switch on TikTok's AI-generated content label before you post. Hand-drawn edits are what this trend is made of, and viewers want to know which ones were drawn by a person and which by an AI.
Or skip all of it
Upload one photo above and get the finished video back in a few minutes: drawn, animated and cut, with the AI label already on it.
How to post it on TikTok with the trend sound
Step 1
Download your video
Save the MP4 to your phone. It is already vertical, 1080 by 1920, so TikTok will not crop it.
Step 2
Add the trend sound
Open any wassup in a minute post on TikTok, tap the sound name at the bottom, then tap Use this sound and pick your video from Upload. Start the sound at the "wassup, been a minute" line: each new pose then comes in two bars later, on the beat. Your video has no sound of its own, so there is nothing to turn down.
Step 3
Add your caption and tags
Write your caption the way the trend does, a "wassup in a minute" and an emoji or two is plenty, and add #wassupinaminute and #animation so the people watching the trend find it.
Step 4
Label it as AI-generated
Before posting, open More options and switch on the AI-generated content label. It is an AI drawing of you, not a hand animation, and viewers trust a post that says so.
Questions about the wassup in a minute generator
What is the wassup in a minute trend?
A TikTok edit from late October 2026: hand-drawn anime characters in baggy streetwear stand on a plain white background and sway side to side on the beat, one after another, to a jersey club remix that opens with "wassup, been a minute". It started with a fan animator's post on 22 October 2026 that passed two million views, and the AI versions that draw you as the character followed within days.
What is the wassup in a minute wassup song?
It is a jersey club remix of an R&B song, and its first line, "wassup, been a minute", is the "wassup in a minute wassup" people search for. It is not ours to put in your file, so the video comes with no sound at all: tap the sound on any wassup in a minute post and choose Use this sound, or search "wassup in a minute" in TikTok's sound picker.
Is there a wassup in a minute AI prompt?
Yes, on this page: in the section on making one yourself, each of the four poses has the prompt for its drawing and the prompt that sets it swaying. Here you do not need them: upload a photo and the shots are already written. Whichever way you make it, say it is an original anime drawing of the person in the photo, keep the background pure white, and draw the later poses after the first.
Can I be a character from the anime in the original?
No. The characters in the original post belong to someone else's show, and we do not draw them. You get an original anime drawing of you, with your own face, hair and skin tone, in plain streetwear with no logo, team number or writing on it. That is the version people want to post anyway: themselves in the trend.
Does the video come with the trend sound?
No, the file is silent on purpose. The trend sound is someone else's, and almost everyone uses the same one, so you add it on TikTok with Use this sound. With nothing else playing in the file there is nothing to turn down, and the sound sits on top cleanly.
How much does a wassup in a minute video cost?
80 credits for one finished video, from a credit pack or paid plan. If a video fails to generate, the credits go straight back to your balance.
Can I use a photo of someone else?
Only of someone who has agreed to be in the video. Before you generate, you confirm that the photo is of you or of someone who said yes. Do not upload photos of celebrities or of anyone who has not agreed: even as a drawing, a video of a real person made without their consent can hurt them, and it breaks our terms.
What photo works best?
One person, face clearly visible and looking at the camera, in good light. A head-and-shoulders selfie is enough: the drawing adds the rest of you and the outfit. Your face, hair and skin tone are what carry over into the anime version, so avoid sunglasses, hats, heavy filters and group photos.
What happens to my photo?
It is used only to draw the four poses, and we delete it from our storage as soon as your video is finished or fails. The finished video stays in your account so you can download it again.
How long does it take?
Usually three to six minutes: a couple of minutes to draw the four poses, a few minutes for the video model to animate them, and under a minute to cut them together. You can leave the page open and the video appears when it is ready.
Every video on this page, and every video made here, is AI-generated: the people in it are drawn by an AI model from the photos uploaded.
